day. As we all know that our every morning starts with a cup of tea. You can
also say that tea has its own fan base, according to Google there are approx. 2
billion peoples, consumes tea every day. Today is World Tea Day, and we are
going to discuss some fantastic facts about International Tea Day and tea

History Behind International
Tea Day –
International Tea Day
was firstly celebrated on 15th of December, since the year 2005 by various
Asian and African tea producing countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi,
Malaysia, Indonesia, Shri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal, and of course India. So why it’s
going to celebrated on May 21? The answer is that, according to United Nations
the production of tea by the leading tea producing countries, is remains on
peak in the month of May, and that’s the reason that tea day is being
internationally celebrated today on 21st May 2021, from last year.
According to Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) it’s an initiative to
aware peoples about the significance of tea.
How India become Second
Largest Tea producing country? –
On Social media, Most
of the Indians are celebrating International Tea Day as International Chai Day,
because Tea is generally called “Chai”. In India, Tea has its own
significance, and another level of love and craze in the heart of Indians. In
British era tea was firstly came with Britishers when they used to start
farming of tea in the Darjeeling. After independence, Britishers was gone, but
the tea not and till that time it got mixed in the Indian culture, just like
never breaking bond, and that’s why the reason, that India has second largest
position in the production of tea approx. 900,000 Metric tons/ annum.
